Planning for the future…
Even when it seems tough to get through the now…
When asked about his outstanding performance on the ice, Wayne Gretzky replied, “A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be!”
I always like to chat with business owners at the front counter when they come in, to see how things are and what they are up too. Last week, it seemed like an unusual higher amount were responding that things are really slow. I was feeling like things were picking up for business just the week before.
Business is interesting, why is it that one week, I hear a positive response and then the next week the opposite. I wonder how much of it is related to time being spent on business planning, promoting and internal training. Where is your business focus? When was the last time you spent some time dreaming in your business about the future in one year, three years and five years?
If you are a typical business owner, you work too hard, care too much, have no time to do what you want, and avoid doing the things you really should be doing!
